Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards Fund
The BBMA endowment fund supports Métis Albertans seeking to change their circumstances through education and skill development.
Awards are intended to assist recipients with essential costs such as tuition, fees, and sometimes textbooks and supplies. Each year approximately 140 awards are approved by the BBMA Panel. Most awards range between $1,000 and $10,000. Since 2002, the fund has provided awards totalling over $6.7 million to more than 1100 Métis students.
The Founder’s Vision
“Métis students demonstrating financial need, commitment and a desire to be gainfully employed can realize self-sufficiency through the support of the Belcourt Brosseau Métis Awards Fund towards the advancement of their post-secondary education and skills development.”
